Bob Myers received his B.A. in 1960 from the University of Western Ontario and his MSW in 1965 from the University of British Columbia. From 1960­-64, he worked for the Children’s Aid Society and Oxford County, and from 1965‑73 as the Executive Director of the United Way of Greater Windsor, latterly as the Executive Director.

Bob has taught community organization and administration in Social Work at the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales in Australia, the University of British Columbia and Carleton University. In 1976, he became Director of the Social Planning Department of the United Way of Greater Vancouver before his appointment in 1978 as Executive Director, United Way/Centraide Canada. During his 10 year tenure he developed the On‑Site process, which has been used in United Way chapters in Canada and the US, and in over 300 national and international social service agencies in North America and Australia.

After leaving United Way in 1988, Bob assumed a part‑time appointment for three years as the Director for the IMAGINE Campaign, initiated by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy. He also served as the Chair of the Board of Green Shield Canada (a pre-paid prescription and dental health plan) and a variety of international and local non-profits, while continuing to consult on a part‑time basis using the On‑Site process throughout North America and overseas.
