Right To Play Thailand and Royal Thai Ministry of

Justice Partnership

On 15 September 2011, Right To Play Thailand Foundation and the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection of the Royal Thai Ministry of Justice launched a formal partnership to provide sport and play-based learning activities in youth training centers in Samut Prakarn, Ratchaburi, and Trang.

A signing ceremony took place at the Office of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection where Mr. Tawatchai Thaikaew, Director-General of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, Ministry of Justice and Mr. Michael Albert, Country Manager, Right To Play Thailand Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Honourable Ron Hoffmann, Canadian Ambassador to Thailand, was also present. Both the Canadian Embassy in Thailand and DKSH (Thailand) Limited are funding this project.

Right To Play uses sport for development to create a safe place for children to learn and fosters the hope that is essential for children to envision and realize a better future

In Thailand, Right To Play uses sport and play as tools to promote the healthy and holistic development of children and youth across the country. In partnership with the Thai Ministry of Justice, Right To Play will train local staff and volunteers to use child-centered, activity based lessons to teach important life skills to troubled youth and assist in their rehabilitation.  Right To Play also implements its programs in schools across the country together with the Ministry of Education. Right To Play also implement programs for refugee children from Burma in temporary shelters in Thailand along the Thai/Burma border.
