Canadian sprint kayaker Adam van Koeverden champions our cause on and off the water. The four-time Olympic medalist has not only displayed Right To Play on the side of his kayak, in 2012 he scaled Mount Kilimanjaro in support of “Climbing For A Cause,” raising funds for our programs. Adam has visited our projects in Mali, Liberia and Benin where he played games like Don’t Trust Your Eyes, helping teach children how to live peaceful and healthy lives. A devoted supporter of our ongoing events and initiatives, Adam has been an integral part of Canadian awareness and fundraising initiatives, including participating in our 2015 Tribute Dinner and writing a letter to all Right To Play Canada supporters for our Give Play holiday campaign.
“These kids have bright futures, and to come from a place like this and to be optimistic, hopeful, hardworking, and have goals is a lot tougher than growing up in Oakville, Ontario, and having the same,” he said on one field visit. “These kids are strong and Right To Play is making them even stronger.”
