Allyson Felix hit the ground running when she became involved with our organization in September 2011. One month after becoming an Athlete Ambassador, the American sprinter joined Right To Play Founder and President Johann Olav Koss on a field trip to Lebanon and the Palestinian Territories. There, the four-time Olympic gold medalist saw firsthand how play inspires children to improve their lives and their communities. Allyson visited Africa again in November 2012 to see our programs in Kampala, Uganda, and in October 2015, she travelled to Mozambique as part of an international Right To Play Athlete Ambassador delegation.
Allyson continues to contribute to initiatives and events on home ground, including various online fundraising campaigns and our annual Big Red Ball Gala in New York City.
“One of the greatest things was to hear [students] talk about the change that they’ve seen in themselves. The confidence that they’ve built and their personalities evolving is really exciting.”
