Throughout the United States, Olympic gold medalist Joey Cheek is a highly recognizable Athlete Ambassador. In 2006, the now-retired speed skater donated his US Olympic Committee gold medal bonus and prize money to our organization, raising significant funds and awareness. The same year, Joey journeyed to Zambia, Africa, playing with the children in our programs, while learning more about our projects and their long-term benefits. A loyal supporter, Joey actively participates in fundraising events year-round including the San Francisco Play Day in 2013, the 2014 Central Park Classic and our annual Big Red Ball Gala in New York City.
“The thing I love about Right To Play is that these kids are living in areas of the world under circumstances that are no fault of their own, but that just don’t allow them to pursue their dreams in the same ways we have been afforded. Through Right To Play kids have opportunities they would otherwise never have that impact the futures of their whole communities”
