Through the generous support of our lead sponsor MasterCard and sponsorship from Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Right To Play hosted its Second Annual Skate with the Greats on Saturday May 26th. This year, participants included not only parent-child teams, but also high school students from our Youth To Youth program, an initiative between high schools and inner city elementary schools promoting leadership, play, tutoring and mentoring relationships. The day was filled with excitement as participants had a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet NHL legends including Curtis Joseph, Darcy Tucker, Dave McLlwain and Nathan Perrott.

As the doors opened, participants streamed into the main lobby of the MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke. Jim Lang from Sportsnet Radio FAN 590 announced each individual as they skated out wearing Right To Play jerseys, ensuring that they had the full NHL experience. On the ice, each player had the chance to learn basic hockey skills from each of the four Alumni through two skill development clinics; following the skate, all participants enjoyed lunch with the greats and went home with great swag bags!

Overall, the day was a huge success; we would like to thank our sponsors, especially MasterCard, and our volunteers for making this day unforgettable. A big thank you as well to Right To Play Champion, Anthony Antonelli, for hosting the event.
