Andrew Hoy and his Horse, Right To Play’s Jack Sparrow, Join our Team of Athlete Ambassadors

AndrewHoy_SMpost.pngWe are thrilled to announce Australian equestrian superstar Andrew Hoy as our new, global Athlete Ambassador. Andrew is a veteran of seven Olympic Games and a winner of three Olympic Gold Medals. He is currently aiming for his eighth participation in Rio in 2016.

"I am very excited to be a Global Athlete Ambassador for Right To Play," says Andrew. "I have been very fortunate in life and sport has taught me many valuable lessons. The organization teaches these same lessons as well as important life skills to children from less fortunate parts of the world, so it makes me proud to be associated with this organization."

One of his most promising horses is named "Right To Play's Jack Sparrow," and competes with the charity's logo on his equipment. Right To Play's Jack Sparrow is an Irish Sport Horse, currently competing at 1* Level and has been with Andrew since the end of last year.  2015 will be the first season that Andrew and Right To Play's Jack Sparrow compete together, but they are looking forward to a promising time together, and so are we! We can't wait to see them both on the international competition circuit doing amazing work.

"Andrew Hoy is a remarkable athlete and we are very excited to have him join our team," says Johann Koss, our President and CEO. "His tremendous longevity and success and the unparalleled respect he enjoys in equestrian sports will bring invaluable awareness to our work."

Andrew has also generously integrated Right To Play branding into his website, and joins an international team of more than 300 volunteer Athlete Ambassadors.
