LPGA star Suzann Pettersen supports Right To Play through Pro Challenge

Right To Play is grateful to have Athlete Ambassadors deliver our message of learning through play. We’re highlighting one athlete every month to thank them for helping us reach one million children worldwide. This September, we focus on LPGA golfer Suzann Pettersen as our Athlete of the Month.

LPGA golfer Suzann Pettersen has been a Right To Play Athlete Ambassador since 2009. In September 2012, Suzann put on a charity golf tournament in Oslo, the Suzann Pro Challenge, that raised more than $95,000 US for Right To Play’s Mozambique program.

The following month, she took time off from practice and competition to visit schools and children in Mozambique involved with the Right To Play programs she helped support.

“This is one of the most eye-opening and emotional experiences I have ever taken part of,” Pettersen said of her experience. “Some of the kids here live in very tough and challenging conditions, but still smile and are happy every day. They take care of one another, and it is a fantastic feeling being around them.

The 2013 edition of the Suzann Pro Challenge took place September 6th and 7th and raised more than $140,000 for Right To Play. Learn more on her blog, http://suzanngolf.com/suzann-pro-challenge-powered-by-bmw/
