Right To Play’s sports partner Chelsea FC were crowned Champions of Europe after a dramatic Champions League final against Bayern Munich where they won 4-3 on penalties. The Right To Play logo took pride of place on the back of the shirts.
The logo was added to Chelsea’s Champions League shirts this season; they are the only English club to do this. The amazing success they’ve experience in the Champions League meant that millions of people were exposed to Right To Play; an estimated 300 million people watched the final alone!
Right To Play have been Chelsea FC’s global charity partner for six years now, over this time the partnership has spanned various fundraising and awareness rising activities, including players attending events in the UK and visiting Right To Play programmes in the field; Michael Essien visited programmes in Ghana. The partnership not only puts Right To Play on an international sporting platform but also raises essentials funds to support our programmes around the world.
