Lindsay Hower serves as the U.S. National Director of Right To Play and works alongside her colleagues on the global leadership team to raise revenue and raise awareness about Right To Play’s work in the United States.  Splitting her time between San Francisco and New York, Lindsay collaborates with her highly talented team to achieve its annual revenue targets by engaging Right To Play USA’s supporter networks throughout the country, marketing the organization’s program model and impact, and involving tenured and new U.S. Athlete Ambassadors in Right To Play’s work.  Lindsay and her team are also focused on implementing the inaugural domestic early childhood play-based program in partnership with the New York City Department of Education. 

 

Prior to Right To Play, Lindsay managed the major gifts program at Rare, a global conservation group, and has served the U.S. House of Representatives Resources Committee, as well as worked with the Clinton Global Initiative, Worldwatch Institute, and the Natural Resources Defense Council.  Lindsay serves on the governance boards of two Bay area not-for-profits and works as a Senior Advisor for Paragon Philanthropy, a philanthropy advisory group that works with individuals, foundations and not-for-profit organizations.  A former teacher, global traveler and amateur tri-athlete, Lindsay earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University with a double major in English and International Development.  She went on to earn a graduate degree with distinction from the School of International Service at American University in Washington, DC.  Lindsay is a New York native but has called San Francisco home since 2010.

 

Alissa Barlow is Director of Development at Right To Play USA.  Alissa works alongside her colleagues in the US National Office to increase revenue and supporter engagement across the US, with a particular focus on New England and New York.  

 

Prior to Right To Play USA, Alissa was Development Director at Child’s i Foundation, an international NGO working to prevent the abandonment and its resulting institutionalization of children in Uganda.  Alissa has worked in major gifts fundraising since 2003 and has held positions at Newcastle University, Terrence Higgins Trust, and more recently the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, the UK’s largest children’s charity. Alissa has a BA Honours degree in English Literature and an MA in the History and Politics of The Americas. Alissa was born in California but raised in London, and as a new New Yorker, Alissa spends the majority of her time exploring the city and marvelling at the staggering amount of food she still has yet to try. She is passionate about philanthropy, and truly believes that giving can change your life for the better.

 

 

Caroline Bennett joined Right to Play in January 2012 as the U.S. Program and Marketing Manager. In this role, Caroline coordinates Right To Play's play-based early childhood education pilot program in New York City, the first U.S.-based program since Right To Play’s inception. Caroline works directly with the New York City Department of Education along with school directors and teachers to develop, manage, implement and monitor the program. Additionally, Caroline provides leadership in marketing for the US office.

 

Prior to this assignment, Caroline worked at Millennium Promise on the MDG Pledges initiative where she developed the project's strategic framework and the implementation of the communication plan. Caroline also spent 5 years working as a marketer in Consumer Packaged Goods for Dannon and Kraft foods. There she led marketing programs and spearheaded numerous projects while working on such brands as Maxwell House Coffee, LU Biscuits and Tassimo. Caroline was born and educated in France and holds a Master’s Degree in Business from the Dijon Graduate Business School. To unwind, Caroline enjoys running, spinning and long walks with Pantoufle (her brown Labrador). 

 

 

Kate Greenberg is Director of Development for the Mid-Atlantic region of Right To Play USA. Kate is based in New York City and works alongside her colleagues on the global leadership team to raise revenue and build brand awareness specifically in the New York City and Washington, D.C. metropolitan regions.

 

Before coming to Right To Play, Kate has spent the last eight years raising funds for top-tier New York-area nonprofit organizations. Most recently, Kate served as a Senior Development Officer for American Jewish World Service (AJWS). Prior to AJWS, Kate worked for The Children’s Aid Society and began her philanthropy career in New York in David Rockefeller’s office as he and his family created Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture. Before living in New York, Kate developed a passion for international development in the United States Peace Corps where she spent two years in Honduras building potable water systems. Kate hails from the St. Louis area and has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In her free time, Kate enjoys running and modern dance, as well as chasing around her two small children.

 

Kathy Holding serves as Senior Associate, Development and Events for Right To Play USA and works alongside her colleagues domestically and internationally to build awareness and cultivate donor relationships through fantastic communications and events. She is active in donor outreach and cultivation, as well as planning Right To Play USA’s Red Ball Gala. Kathy joined Right To Play USA two years ago as an intern and came on board in late 2010 as Communications Officer. 

 

Previously, Kathy worked as a field organizer for The Obama for America Presidential Campaign where she lead major drives to register voters and held numerous fundraisers for the Presidential Campaign.  Kathy earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Iowa majoring in Political Science, where she conducted research on the accuracy of political polling, working closely with the department chair. Originally from Illinois, Kathy is a lover of travel and running.

  

Brandon Perkins is a Development Associate, Finance and Business Administration, for Right To Play USA.  Along with working with the National Director, Directors of Development and other key staff to ensure the continued growth and impact of the organization, Brandon oversees all finance-related needs of Right To Play USA, including managing donor databases and external finance platforms as well as serving as the financial liaison to headquarters.

 

Brandon discovered his passion for international development while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso, West Africa from 2008-2010. There, he managed multiple community development initiatives and particularly enjoyed working alongside the youth of his close-knit village.  Upon returning from his service, Brandon moved to New York City and worked as the Operations and Finance Manager for a management consulting firm until he transitioned into his role at Right to Play in 2012.  Brandon graduated with honors from Montana State University with a degree in both French and Finance, and although he will always have a soft spot in his heart for the Rocky Mountain region, he now puts up his boots in Jackson Heights, New York.

 

Lisa Parks serves as the U. S. Senior Development Officer at Right to Play and works alongside her colleagues to raise funds and build brand awareness for Right to Play. Planning and executing events throughout the Bay Area to raise awareness and revenue, Lisa’s primary task is the creation, management, and oversight of Right To Play’s signature Bay Area annual event, May Play Day.

 

Prior to working for Right To Play, Lisa owned and operated a hand bag and accessory line primarily focused in the North American market.  Lisa earned her undergraduate degree from University of California-Berkeley with a major in Political Science and an emphasis on International Relations.  Co-Capitan of the Women’s Tennis team, she earned a Varsity Letter for her achievements. She volunteers her time with small local non profits setting fund raising strategy, and sits on the local committee for the Berkeley Public Libraries. Lisa lives in Berkeley, CA with her husband and three boys. She enjoys traveling, sports, gardening & cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

 

 

Erit Yellen serves as Director of U.S. Athlete Relations and Public Relations at Right To Play USA where she maintains relationships with a broad group of Right To Play’s Athlete Ambassadors and Supporters. Her work includes managing 50 U.S. Athlete Ambassadors, from an array of sports, to help raise awareness for Right To Play. She assists Right To Play USA’s development and fundraising team during their events and campaigns by engaging and acting as liaison for Right To Play’s Athlete Ambassadors.

 

Erit has over 12 years of experience representing professional athletes and working as an executive in the sports industry. Yellen founded EYA Sports PR in 2004 providing personal Public Relations to professional athletes. In 2007, EYA Sports PR was acquired PMK/HBH and Erit became Director of their Sports Division. Yellen lectures at USC's Institute of Sports, Media & Society. Erit is a former college rower at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and lives in Los Angeles where she volunteers with the Los Angeles Jewish Federation’s young adults programs.
